Who better to ask than Aberdeen-based surgeon and rugby medic, Lou McCullough — the first woman to triumph on Channel 4’s SAS Who Dares Wins reality show.
She was one of a number of contestants faced with tremendously demanding physical and mental challenges in the harsh conditions of the Chilean Andes, concluding with an 18-hour interrogation.
And next week she’s taking part in an event hosted by Ledingham Chalmers to help raise money for Charlie House as part of the organisation’s Venture 2019 challenge.
Charlie House is a local children’s charity that supports babies, children and young people with complex disabilities and life limiting conditions. This challenge sees teams, including the full-service law firm’s LEDS Factor, compete against each other to turn an initial £100 gift from their employers into as much cash as possible for the charity.
The event takes place at Ledingham Chalmers’ Aberdeen office in the city’s Rose Street on Tuesday, 12 March from 6pm to 9pm.
All money raised will go directly to the Big Build appeal for a specialist support centre built in the grounds of Woodend Hospital in the city, and the eight-week challenge culminates in an awards ceremony at the Mercure Aberdeen Ardoe House Hotel on Thursday, 28 March.
