Ledingham Chalmers adds three Business Gateway events to its GDPR tour

With GDPR fast approaching, Ledingham Chalmers is speaking at three Business Gateway (BG) events this week, with social media experts Tuminds, to advise on compliance with the new legislation.

On top of the BG session yesterday in Helensburgh, Kirk Tudhope, Inverness-based partner and head of the employment law team, will speak to delegates in Dunoon today, and Oban tomorrow.

When GDPR comes into force on 25 May it will radically change how all businesses handle data: significantly adding to the demands organisations have to meet, and increasing the penalties for breach.

Mr Tudhope will discuss how data protection works in practice; how businesses can prepare and become compliant; and the main business risks.

This event is one of many GDPR-focussed sessions the Scottish full-service law firm has been involved in: a series that has seen its team present to businesses in locations stretching from the Highlands to the central belt.

The firm will also present at two free Lochaber Chamber of Commerce events in Fort William on 24 May: an employment law update in the morning, and a GDPR session in the afternoon.
