Ledingham Chalmers employment and discrimination law expert to speak at Institute of Directors event

Directors will find benefit from an update on relevant employment issues and the extension of liabilities for themselves, and their businesses, at an event in Edinburgh next month.

Ledingham Chalmers’ partner and solicitor advocate, John Lee, will speak to delegates at the Institute of Directors (IoD) event on 10 October.

This session focuses on what directors need to know about recent, imminent and expected legislation such as IR35 and the tax treatment of self-employed consultants, the extension of directors’ duties, the impact of Brexit as well as developments in disability discrimination rules.

Mr Lee said: “The aim of this session is to update directors in areas relevant to their roles, duties and their businesses. Employment law legislation is constantly evolving and it’s essential directors stay informed so they can easily identify possible issues before they become problems, whether in relation to their position as officers of their business or to their business themselves.”
