We caught up with her to find out more.

What’s your area of expertise?

Residential property is my speciality. I work on everything from purchases and sales to executry conveyancing, transfers of title, and complex title investigations. There’s nothing more satisfying than getting stuck into a tricky property puzzle and helping clients move forward with confidence.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Being part of such a significant moment in someone’s life is a real privilege. I love client contact. And I’ll admit I’m a bit property-obsessed! I find it all fascinating, from browsing photos and interiors to poring over boundaries and hearing the stories behind people’s homes.

How did you get into this line of work?

Surprisingly, I didn’t enjoy property law at university and never thought I’d end up in this field. But during my traineeship, I had a property seat with lots of client interaction, fascinating title investigations, and varied document drafting. It completely changed my perspective — I realised it was exactly the right fit for me.

What’s a common misconception about what you do?

That we finish early on a Friday! In reality, it’s the busiest day of the week for us. We’re working flat out to make sure clients get their keys and are safely moved in for the weekend.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I play with Rebound Netball Club in Aberdeen. We train weekly, and during the season I play competitively with Rebound Free in the Aberdeen District Netball Association leagues. I love the team spirit and the friendships I’ve made, they’re very special.

Weekends are often spent outdoors with my family. My sons are bike-mad, so we’ve all joined Ythan Cycle Club and enjoy exploring Aberdeenshire together on two wheels.

Can you recommend a film, book or podcast?

I watch About Time at least once a year — it’s life-affirming and heartbreaking in the best way. It always makes me cry, but I love it.

What’s something you really like about your team at work?

I’m incredibly fortunate to work with a fantastic group of women. The support within our department is second to none, which makes all the difference.
