Ledingham Chalmers expert speaks at free Fort William employment law seminar

A free Lochaber Chamber of Commerce seminar, in Fort William next week, will help Highland businesses successfully deal with common workplace challenges.

Ledingham Chalmers’ partner and head of employment law, Kirk Tudhope, will speak to chamber members from across the north west of Scotland at the breakfast event.

He said: “This seminar is aimed at businesses of any size and will be useful for owners, managers and anyone whose role includes HR issues. Those who come along will find out more about dealing fairly and, where necessary, robustly, with many of the typical issues that arise in the workplace.

“We are focussing on the impact of the removal of tribunal fees and how employers can protect themselves in the face of the rising number of claims. There will also be a discussion as to why disability discrimination can be an issue when handling misconduct; and the latest holiday pay controversy.

"And of course, no discussion is complete for employers at the moment without mention of Brexit.”
