The Alexander W Davie Trust, a charity registered in Scotland, SC024169, was established in 1992 to provide children and young people with financial assistance for educational purposes.
What type of support does the trust provide?
The amounts the trust gives change every year; however, over the past academic year (2023-2024) it has awarded £66,300 to nine students attending college or university, with individual grants ranging from £3,900 to £7,800.
Seven people also received one-off grants for support with private tuition fees, school trips, school uniforms and laptop costs. The trust’s total contribution for one-off grants during this time was almost £3,000.
Am I eligible to apply?
Applicants need to meet one of these criteria —
Category 1 — The applicant was born in the Parish of Lumphanan or his/her parents were resident in Lumphanan at the time the applicant was born
Category 2 — The applicant has lived in the Parish of Lumphanan for five years before the application and still lives there
Category 3 — The applicant was born in either the Parish of Torphins or Kincardine O’Neil, or the applicant’s parents were resident there at the time of the applicant’s birth and the applicant has lived within either of the parishes for five years before making the application, and continues to live there
