Residential property solicitor — Aberdeen

We’re looking for a solicitor to join our residential property team in Aberdeen.

We’re proud of what we’ve achieved so far — and of the progressive culture we’ve created. A central part of our approach is our core values, which guide how we work with each other, and our clients.

Here’s Edinburgh-based partner Sarah Morris explaining why she chose Ledingham Chalmers as a trainee.

The role

You’ll handle a broad range of conveyancing work, including purchases and sales, executry conveyancing, remortgages and transfer of title matters. There’s the chance to manage your own caseload as well as contribute to more complex transactions involving title conditions, boundary issues, and access matters.

You’ll be involved at all stages — from taking initial instructions and negotiating missives to reporting to clients and completing Land Register applications. You’ll liaise with clients and third parties, including estate agents and surveyors, and provide support to senior colleagues when needed.

This is a full time, permanent role. Hybrid working may be available, subject to discussion.

The ideal candidate

We’re looking for a qualified solicitor with demonstrable post-qualification experience in residential conveyancing. Just as important as your PQE is your ability to demonstrate —

  • A strong interest in residential property law and the motivation to build your technical knowledge

  • Excellent attention to detail and a practical, commercial approach to problem solving

  • Clear, confident communication and strong drafting skills

  • Good time management, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks

  • A collaborative approach and a willingness to support colleagues at all levels

  • An interest in developing business development skills through client contact, events or training

Why Ledingham Chalmers?
