Client wellbeing advisor — Aberdeen

We’re proud of what we’ve achieved so far — as well as the progressive culture we’ve created.

Our core values guide how we work with each other and our clients, as well as how we give something back to our local communities.

And now we're looking for a client wellbeing advisor to help make a real difference to people’s lives through building supportive and trusted relationships.

We'd welcome applications from those looking for flexible working arrangements for this role, which is based in Aberdeen.

The role

As a member of our client wellbeing team, you’ll work alongside partners and professional bodies, acting on behalf of individuals with additional support needs.

You’ll often be the first port of call when it comes to implementing powers of attorney and guardianships: communicating directly with clients and keeping them up to date as their case progresses.

The role includes —

  • Meeting with clients, as well as their care teams and family members, when necessary

  • Drafting court documentation (with solicitor oversight)

  • Organising and identifying a client’s financial assets, liabilities, and insurance

  • Supporting care and social work teams in managing belongings and finances

  • Assisting partners in setting up and managing bank accounts and investments, including liaising with investment managers

  • Preparing documentation and accounts the Office of the Public Guardian in Scotland requires

  • Liaising with mental health officers and medical professionals on reports

You’ll also provide support with —

  • The payment of outstanding bills or debts

  • Coordinating property sale and clearance

  • Developing budgets and overseeing bank account management

  • Providing money for day-to-day requirements

  • Paying the likes of care fees, rent and utility bills

  • Arranging funeral plans and associated services when needed

Our ideal candidate

Given the nature of this role, it’s important you can demonstrate a friendly and patient approach to assisting people, including those with additional support needs or potentially challenging behaviours. You may have, for example, previously worked in the NHS or the care sector.

A legal background isn’t necessary, but you’ll also be able to demonstrate —

  • Strong communication skills

  • IT skills (including Microsoft Office)

  • Numerical proficiency for financial tasks such as preparing accounts and spending budgets

  • The ability to work autonomously and make informed decisions

  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn from — and support — team members

And, as this role also includes home visits, you will need a full driving licence, and mode of transport.

Applicants should also have joined the Disclosure Scotland PVG scheme.
