Ledingham Chalmers gets in gear for RSABI Great Glen Challenge

Set against the stunning backdrop of the north of Scotland’s defining geographical feature - the Great Glen - four competitors from Ledingham Chalmers will take part in a hotly-contested multi-sports charity event on Friday, 25 August.

The LC All Stars will compete against 26 other teams, mountain biking, kayaking, running and walking along the 46km course, from Fort Augustus to Fort William, as part of a major fundraising effort for RSABI.

The charity provides financial and practical support for people and their dependants who have been associated with land-based employment, and who are now experiencing hardship.

The event raised more than £112,000 for those in need throughout rural Scotland in 2015 and 2016.

Now in its sixth year, the challenge is open to teams of four from rural businesses, industry organisations and others involved in agriculture. Ledingham Chalmers sponsors the competition, which is supported by main partners The Scottish Farmer, Bank of Scotland, Galbraith and Royal Bank of Scotland.

Ledingham Chalmers partner Jim Drysdale said: “The role of organisations such as RSABI has arguably never been more important as the industry works together to create a sustainable future in the face of continuing uncertainty as well as challenging market and weather conditions.

“This fantastic event raises essential funds, and you can donate here, that help so many people throughout rural Scotland – and importantly, it’s a great day of fun and endeavour for all the competitors in a stunning part of the country.”
