How does the First Home Fund work?

Shortly after it opened for applications, it was announced the First Home Fund was fully committed for 2021-22 and had closed.

Any applications in progress, but not yet submitted at point of closure, are unable to be processed.

As such, this round-up which originally went into detail about the fund, including how to apply has now been updated to reflect the current situation.
